Direct Oxidation Process of Low Concentration Sulfur Containing Gas

一、 The direct oxidation process of the low concentration sulfur gas(H2S<5%(mol)
The acid gas from the workshop section goes through the acid gas separator and then blend with proper amount of water vapor, then it passes the acid gas preheater to rise the temperature to about 160℃~170℃ and after that it enters the hydrolysis reactor for the hydrolysis reaction of organic sulfur.
COS+H2O==H2S+CO2
After this reaction, the product is mixed with air at 170 ℃ from the air preheater and O2 / H2S = 0.6-0.8 is ensured. Then, the selective oxidation reaction of H2S is carried out in the reactor.
 H2S+1/2 O2→S+H2O

The direct oxidation of H2S is a strong exothermic reaction, when 1% of H2S is converted to elemental sulfur  the reaction heat will make the catalyst bed temperature rise by about 60 ℃ in the reactor, then the acid gas from the reactor goes through the sulfur condenser and the temperature falls down to 125 ℃, after that it passes through the sulfur separator to separate the liquid sulfur, at last  the  liquid sulfur is discharged into the cooling mold, which cools naturally.
The tail gas passes through the tail gas washing tower (total sulfur content ≤ 10mg / Nm3)and then is sent to the chimney for emissions.
The technical characteristics:

It has the advantages of simple process, less equipment, small area, low investment, convenient operation and high purity of sulfur recovery. Besides that it also has the advantages of advanced technology, high sulfur recovery rate, reasonable technological process and low running cost.
